Another month has passed and it’s time to review another of Matt’s teacher themed podcasts! Yet, again no one really had anything positive to say about students at all. Hear, hear! right? However, if I appeared on the show I’d feel like somewhat of a hypocrite as when I was in school I climbed out of a window. A ground floor one though, which I think is why I didn’t get into trouble. Another reason was that the teacher was too tired of me to complain about my behaviour, and that theory is backed up when Matt once said in another clip that he’d basically let the students set fire to the class as he’s too tired to deal with them. Depressing for the students in one way, but beneficial in another. Again, I’d feel uncomfortable appearing on the show. I can write about it though, as I’m nice and safe in a far away country. Ah. Matt asks another podcaster what he used to do before teaching and the latter said he used to supervise people. Matt then says ‘What like teaching?’ The other podcaster then said he worked with people who just left juvenile hall, and Matt said ‘What like teaching?’ again. Great joke!

Another teacher said that some of his students watch the podcast and the children say that they like it. There’s a bit of jealousy for me there as when people see me they say ‘here comes the idiot’ which is sad. Hang on, I’ve just noticed: These people have nothing positive to say at all and the students like that? So what’s wrong with me?! My word! The only thing the podcasters say that they mustn’t do is use offensive language in their program or they’ll get into trouble, the most offensive thing I say in my various writings is ‘bellend’ and that’s not ok for me?? Actually, now that I think about it, I’m sure no students want to be called ‘bellends’. Maybe that’s what my problem is. Still though, I can call them obnoxious and beyond hope, like the educators do? I think I’d rather be a bellend than beyond hope. I’d be upset with the situation, but it could be worse. Later on in the show, a podcaster said students are ‘terrible, disrespectful and bad’ in just 5 seconds. Again, how is that fine? What am I doing wrong? I’d like to try teaching just to see what reaction I’d get. What if a child climbs out the window? I could say ‘I get you, man’ but would that stop them or make their behaviour seem ok? I’d probably get a reputation. As in ‘Simon’s here, lock the windows, not just for the pupils but for him, too.’

Pupils later get called ‘toxic and nasty’ and then ‘toxic and negative’ shortly after. I wouldn’t mind if anyone ever called me ‘toxic’ as I think the letter x sounds cool. Negative sounds fair enough, but bellend? Not ok. Matt said ‘I’m putting out fires trying to get them…’ and didn’t finish the sentence, which is annoying because it’s the start of a first rate anecdote. A little dark, but there is morbid curiosity, there. Just a little tip for Matt on how he can make a better show, that’s all. Unless of course ‘I’m putting out fires trying to get them’ IS a complete sentence, then that would make Matt a hero. If that’s the case, who am I to rate his show as less than 5 out of 5. He is a great man!! Matt also explains how he was told ‘when you get into education, the main job is to keep your mental health’. Wow, times have changed, when I was in school the main job for teachers was to teach. If I was a child, I’d be like ‘Why won’t you teach me maths and spelling?’ Then the teacher would say ‘Sorry, but that’s not really what I get paid for. I get paid for not hallucinating’. Keeping my mental health does seem tricky, but still I don’t understand how I’d get paid for that.

The teachers explain how the kids don’t want to learn, do any running, dance, behave etc., but one teacher did point out how they want to wrestle. That’s something right? The students could grow up to be policemen, which is important, as you get the feeling many of them will grow up to be criminals. Not exactly a thorough and varied education, but when they see someone starting a fight? They can do sick moves like suplexes and piledrivers. I also heard how youngsters are tech savvy. Then you get tech savvy wrestlers! They pin the felon to the ground and then tell their bosses online, by surfing the internet. At the end of the podcast, Matt complains how hard everything is once more (he must have mentioned that at least 50 times, which again must be depressing for the students), but he then says he’ll have to wrap up soon. Presents?? I admire that attitude. Things may be tough, but look on the bright side, who doesn’t like gifts?? I’m the same, I’m bored right now, but I will be going go karting soon! Now check out the video below!
