As I’m typing, I’m psyching myself up for my upcoming dentist appointments. Obviously I can’t really blog about that yet as I haven’t been there. I can guess what it will be like though judging by past experiences, I’d be really nervous as I wait, the hygiene session will be really painful, the proceeding overall checkup won’t be nearly as bad, and I’d feel a huge sense of relief and boosted mood when everything is finally over. I heard that after you get stung by a bullet ant, you’ll feel a buzz for a week, but that doesn’t make it right. In the meantime, I can also talk about the plasterer who worked in my dad’s bedroom, yesterday. He genuinely smells really nice, not only that he made the whole house smell better! As far as I’m aware, he wasn’t charging a penny more for that, but I for one did appreciate that. Wow. How would I describe the smell? Not sure really. Soft maybe? I guess I was thinking to myself ‘This is a nice person.’ I’m praying he’ll never read this blog though, that would be embarrassing. I don’t think he will though, and to that I say ‘phew…’ Then again, if he does read this, maybe he can give me some tips on how to smell so fresh.

There are some roadworks on the way you know where, so I know there will be at least some delays but how many? Let’s give myself 45 minutes or so to get there, that will surely do. If I’m early, I can visit some charity shops! I could leave right now but I really want to listen to ‘Power of thy Sword’ by Rhapsody. Just a song recommendation, that’s all. ‘The Pot’ by Tool is good, as well. Right, I’m back from the dentists! You know how long I had to wait in the traffic during the roadworks? Two minutes. A lot of sitting in the waiting room would have to follow I guess, though to be fair, I did check my car was locked and parked legally for a good five minutes, taking up some time. Time for the charity shops, then! The first one was actually pretty good! I got a Bon Jovi CD I already had, but the newer version was in better condition and there was an Extreme album as well, featuring excellent guitar wizard Nuno Bettencourt! The pride of Portugal, I’m sure though his song titles simultaneously disgrace his country. I think we all know what ‘Get the Funk Out’ sounds like. Even so, 60p for 2 CDs is a clear bargain!

The second charity shop was almost twice as expensive, selling just the one CD for 50p, but that wasn’t the reason I didn’t get music from there, I needed my credit card and I had no change on me. I guess a homeless person will be missing out on a snack paid for by me. Not to worry though, the compilation album I was interested in probably wasn’t that good. A few good songs, but not worth rearranging my whole collection for. Annoyingly I heard an Aerosmith album I really liked yesterday and even worse, I think I’m going to get it. :S After a long time sitting around you know where, I was finally called in for the hygiene appointment. It was explained the dentist was new and hadn’t seen me before, but that doesn’t explain her forgetting to ask me if I wanted pain-relieving gel, I had to ask for myself! Gross negligence there but because I’m nice I won’t file a complaint against the company. And the teeth cleaning was painful anyway, my word. Even the jet of water sprayed on my teeth hurt a little bit at times, to think my dad asked me if I wanted a water spraying toothbrush for Christmas, worst Christmas ever! If I was 10 years old when he asked me, I’d say that was abuse unless I used it as a water pistol maybe. But even then people would laugh at me.

Next came the infinitely less painful dentist checkup, it only hurt when a strange object was forced into my mouth that apparently took X-rays. Why does everything in such places hurt? If you had a broken leg, arm, etc. would the x-ray in the hospital hurt then? Probably not! Anyway, I’m all fine so super duper. I think 1 and a half years ago the dentist said I’ll be needing a filling soon. Not today apparently and not since then, so does that mean teeth can heal?? I’ve never heard of that before. Either that or the dentist I saw all that time ago was trying to scare me or wasn’t very good. After just a few minutes, I could finally go home and was super relieved to get it all out of the way, just as I predicted! I’ve already forgotten when my next checkup is exactly, but that doesn’t matter as there is no way they’ll let me forget. Over the last few days I’ve had a good FOUR reminders in the form of texts, a voice mail and an email! If you DO forget, you either have something wrong with your brain or you reaaaaally don’t care. To end the trip out on an even bigger high, I only had to wait one minute this time in the roadworks. Two minutes first time, one the last, it was better that way as explained. And bye!
