Mature AND patient! (Blog 591)

Yesterday, I overslept over half an hour, despite two alarm clocks attempting to wake me up. The first alarm I just turned off and whilst the second sounds the time you tell it too (makes sense so far), you can only request an extra five minutes sleep twice, or it will give up on you completely and won’t even bother trying to get you out of bed. I wish I knew that before. Nothing mature quite yet, but the feeling of waking up to a dry pillow after all these years was pretty good! I soon posted my daily joke on Wix. Funny stuff and not only that, it was about a bee! A grammatically incorrect bee joke, but I just couldn’t help myself posting my 60th or so joke of its kind on my site. As you may know, I also post my daily jokes on Twitter, and one day I try to remember to add the hashtags #lol #joke and the next I try to reverse the hashtags, and so on and so on, just for something to do. Sadly during the time of the pandemic and the extreme boredom of lockdown, the memory game was one of the main things that kept me going. Anyway, I started the day with the right ordering, however yesterday I ended a perfect run of ten days! Annoying, but not crushing and it would have been genuinely annoying during the pandemic. After that stuff I was looking forward to going into Kingston to buy some CDs and chocolate, and later on in the evening I’d be going for a meal with my dad, brother and sister in law! It’s worth noting I didn’t shave on that day.
I just wanted to post my latest joke review on my site, then I could get ready to leave for the town. Well, leave after a little bit more well-earned lazing around, anyway. Oh no! Change of plan! I messaged my sister in law before I was about to go, to check with her that the date and time of the meal would be fine, as I wanted to plan my day’s gym session effectively. It was then I was given the option whether to get a meal later on in the day OR wait a few more days where my nieces and nephew could come… It’s the hypothetical conversation I’ve had in mind for a good few weeks now, so you’d think I’d be able to respond to it properly. However one of my Facebook messages I posted was literally ‘errrrr….’ I asked what my sister in law wanted and she said it was my choice as it was my birthday. I wanted to say ‘errrr’ again but I’d sound dumb. I mean seeing the children SOUNDS good, but I was really looking forward to getting some music! In the first mature act of a 38 year old and with an amazing ability to delay gratification (who’s antisocial now?) I said I’d rather wait a few more days so everyone can go to the foodery. Good isn’t it? Admirable. The thing is, I usually want to be reviewing for Metal Rules around that time. It’s not the end of the world but I mean… my schedule… :(
Talking of things that are routine, I’ll be topping up my mobile phone around the 20th of July and the last two or three months, I’ve had just enough credit to phone up EE support workers to guide me through the spending process. The thing is, I don’t really like speaking to real people to top up my phone as they keep pestering me to use a service that tops up my phone automatically. No! Remember when I didn’t top up my phone in 9 months or so and my phone number was discontinued, meaning I’d have to get a new number and tell EVERYONE about that? I can’t let that happen again! Yes I know automatic top ups shouldn’t give me any problems at all, but I need to be sure and I need to be in control! (Ok, that suggests I’m antisocial. Not really though, as previously explained. Paranoid, maybe). Therefore, I’ll run my phone completely out of credit by phoning my house number for a long time, forcing me to top up not through a phone call to a person, but rather to computerised messages. Moving on, will I be blogging about the upcoming football match between England and Norway? I mean I could do, but it would be extra work and I’m knackered to be honest. I need a decent rest! I was thinking if I DID blog about the match people would get tired of me and think I was annoying, but if I didn’t people could think I was entitled and lazy. You can’t win can you? As I want more rest right now, I’ll end the blog here, so bye!
