MOT Part Simon’s Number (Blog 444)

Today I had my car’s MOT test! Shortly after leaving my house for it, I found my car smelt a bit, which was annoying. Out of all the days to smell a bit, it had to be this one. I’m not really sure how to describe the smell, it just smelt like I guess bad car? Sounds a bit silly, but I really have no idea. Maybe driving to the place with my window open would help things? The thing is, once you get used to smell, you stop noticing it’s there even if it hasn’t really gone away. Therefore, I wouldn’t know for sure if the window idea worked. On my travels I saw a personalised numberplate. I’m not sure what the driver was trying to say, but it looked like shortened version of ‘Wig Justice.’ Is that a thing? Sounds random. I also noticed there was very little traffic. Why weren’t people going to work?? It was annoying as it meant I arrived at the place half an hour early!

When I did arrive, I put my empty gym water bottle in the glove compartment, as last test it got thrown away in an apparent act of kindness. Actually, it was just annoying. Because I saw a Subway on the way, I didn’t have to spend ages looking for it on foot, when I dropped my vehicle off but again, as I arrived so early I had all the time in the world which was also annoying. The sandwich place had a slightly different menu to the one in Staines, but you know what? When it came to quality, it was the same 5 stars. Yum yum. :) I got a meatball sub and a cookie. Not particularly interesting, but part of the reason I write these blogs is for my own personal use, that being I want to remember more of my life. If I read this blog a few years later and I read some misinformation, I’m going to do some very hard thinking, e.g. ‘Did that REALLY happen??’ What if I made a mistake in this blog and said I ordered a curry and a CD in the establishment? If I read such false writings in the future and tried to remember things, I’d feel like I would be going mad!

Anyway, the weather was sunny for a bit, but luckily the sun soon went down. That was good, because I was wearing no suntan lotion. Also, I was wearing a jumper. :S The sun came out again, but at very least I could use the hood on my clothing as a scarf to cover my neck. Sadly there was nothing I could do to protect my nose. After a lot of wondering around the town, I went to a cafe that sold chocolates. I ordered a few, then I was told I needed to spend at least £5 on my credit card otherwise I wouldn’t be able to buy anything. I needed to buy more. In that rare occasion, I wanted products to be more expensive, but things were easily solved. Yes I bought more treats than I wanted, but I could just eat them later. Nearby, I saw some large graffiti saying ‘AUDI’ and a heart was above the I. I like Audis too. Not as much as him, though. I’m surprised the writing didn’t say ‘BMW’ as I heard owners of such cars have a bad reputation. Interestingly my dad owns a BMW.

When I finally walked back to the car place, I noticed it had an advert boasting of all of their five star reviews. However, the 5 stars weren’t in a straight line, but were in two different lines, so it looked like the place had a two star review and a three star review. I was soon told to wait just 5 more minutes! Not bad! When I was sitting upstairs, by the window and in my favourite spot, I could spy on people outside again. Brilliant. After about five minutes, I was told my car passed the checks! I was told a tire was low and that I’ll need a new one in a couple of months. I asked ‘can’t I just pump it up?’ Then I was told the tire treads were wearing away. Whoops. But all in all, good news for the most part, so I guess I’ll be celebrating with a trip to Staines! When back in my car, I found that the smell was gone, so either the window idea worked, or the staff sorted that out, too. And… bye!
