MOT Woe (Blog 523)

Earlier on this morning, I drove to get my MOT done. As usual, I left about 20 minutes earlier than I needed to, but to be fair there is often traffic on the roads leading to the car place. Well, not today. I arrived 20 minutes early! A little bit annoying, but at least I brought my pen and paper to make notes to pass the time. And of course, because of my subpar memory. I should have brought some sun cream, now there’s the risk I’ll get another brown patch on my arm that will turn yellow in about a year. The first thing I did after leaving my car to get checked was walk to a Subway. It was even hotter in there! Not only that, the sun was shining on me too, my word. I could have sat somewhere else, but I need to learn how to handle the heat better. It was only about 21 degrees celsius outside. :( As I was eating my sub, some kind of alarm seemed to go off. I was the only one there! Was I in trouble? Well it was me and a member of staff, maybe she was the felon.
After I ate my sandwich I opened my cookie bag and noticed I bought two by mistake, instead of one. I should have been clearer when I asked for a chocolate chip cookie then changed my mind and asked for a full blown chocolate cookie. It sounded like I wanted both. I actually got used to the heat in the foodery in the end, although that’s probably because the weather outside got cooler. I guess there is little chance of my skin going Simpsons on me yet, as yeah, the weather wasn’t THAT sunny. Once everything was eaten up, (apart from the extra food) I went on the search of another shop to satisfy my sugar needs. As the saying goes, you never catch the dragon. I do have some self control though, I didn’t get a fizzy, sugary drink, it would be too far. I just got a sugary orange juice drink instead. Not perfect, but better. I also got a Magnum ice cream! It was rock hard, so it seems the shop’s freezer setting was set way too high, but still, a tasty treat.
I couldn’t eat the extra cookie as well, could I? No. Again, too much sugar. However, putting it in the bin didn’t feel right, so I still have the cookie with me as I’m typing. The charity shop I went to was rubbish and only had a few CDs, and many of them had the word ‘love’ written on the spines. No! Lots of exploring the town as I carried an unwanted cookie followed. Eventually I got bored and walked back to the MOT place and I was immediately told by a horrified looking member of staff that my car was screwed. He clearly found that funny. Well, I guess I couldn’t drive home BUT I was prepared for the scenario as I brought my mobile phone with me on that rare occasion and phoned my dad to pick me up! At very least I felt sensible in SOME way. It could have been because of the stress of situation, but it seemed like my dad took ages to drive to me. Oh NOW there’s traffic. :S
At least the day couldn’t get any worse, right? Well when I got home, my Mac said I had to update my computer!! Well that’s what I thought, anyway. Actually the computer notified me that I needed to update my details or something. I clicked ‘update’ and the notification went away immediately, without me typing anything at all. Seems like a very small update to me, something fishy was going on there, God knows what. In more positive news, the dry patch on my skin is starting to get better now after less than two weeks of treatment, and my arm isn’t yellow anymore! A bad day for my car, a promising day for my skin. Now I’m wondering what to do with my cookie. More darkly, I’m waiting for a call from the MOT centre, I’d prefer it if someone else called me, tbh. And I think that’s all from me on this stressful day! Bye!
