Blog 244 (Contest Blog 42)

Wow, this month’s winner (and loser - it’s a one act contest again :( ), Hidden Histories truly has released an epic video this time, lasting 25 minutes and 48 seconds. That’s a lot to take in, especially when it really is as weird as all Hell. It’s like being in French class in school, without my glasses. A time best forgotten. (Though I do know the French for swimming pool, car, hello, black, white, the numbers one to ten and ‘my name is Simon’. Oh yes, and cow). Anyway, with the vid, one minute you get an extensive documentation of events that seem unlikely, but HH appear pretty sure about, (I hate it when that happens - again, makes me feel like an idiot), the next a Bill Gates lookalike gets a shoe thrown at his face and he bleeds everywhere. You can forgive me for not completely following things, especially when I seem to have ADD. I could diagnose myself online and give myself a test, but I can’t be bothered - too long. I have to be honest, HH, I’ve had cheese dreams that made more sense than your work. I’ve watched it twice all the way through, and I know this is my fault, but next time you may want to repeat certain bits of information so they stick in the mind more. Maybe adding subtitles would be good, too. It’s just too much.

Having said that, it’s surprisingly entertaining. Not necessarily in an intellectual way as I’m sure was intended, but for me personally I was thinking ‘Shoe in face! Blood! Funny! Haaa! Powned!’ I’m sorry if that disappoints you. I’ll watch it again, so I don’t come across as a pure moron and so I know what I’m talking about better. Again - my fault. Let’s play it in the background as I blog. Usually I like to listen to music as I work, but this is a special case. I will understand what I’m writing about! I’m having flashback of secondary school English class, biology, physics, etc., etc., I really am and it’s upsetting. A time best forgotten. (See how repeating myself sticks in the mind? A neat tip. Not all bad though, I did get a solid B in GCSE music. :D) Anyway, I will not feel like a moron again! (On the subject of music, the song also made by HH at the end of the video is pretty good! I’d literally buy it. Sounds a bit like My Bloody Valentine. That’s something, right?)

So in conclusion, a lot of effort went into this video (I actually gave it a solid 5 in that criteria, possibly for the first time ever), but on first impressions - let’s face it - it could have been about anything. HOWEVER if you’re a little more patient, well done. You’re a more sensible person than I could ever be. I don’t have any kind of hope, because all my writing is clearly silly and that’s my angle. I could be this way, till I die. A frightening thought for most, but there’s no way out! :S :S You may have heard of the people who danced themselves to death, and sometimes that’s how I feel. :( Really I’m surprised HH trusted me in the first place, but who knows? Maybe no more. Having said that, maybe I’ll ask for the act’s permission again, next month. They may say no, but I don’t necessarily have to show them this blog. In all seriousness, the video is clearly very well made, so please don’t hate me.

Now to change the subject! I got fed up with throwing twigs at upright pens to knock them over, as it proved too difficult for the most part. Now I’m knocking them over by spraying deodorant at them. The thing is, I’m starting to feel just a little sick after just a few sprays. Solvent abuse can kill, according to the can and I believe it. Just not that quickly. Then again, I’m not sure if it is solvent abuse, because surely it’s pen abuse? Do the rules still apply? I guess it’s time to start composing an email. To end things, it seems playing the video another time wasn’t truly enough for me. I wouldn’t worry though, I once took a simple wrong turn in my car and all Hell broke loose for about half an hour or so. This kind of stuff is just difficult for me, I was SO lost. :,( Soz. Bye!
