As I need at least SOMETHING to look forward to, (no offence to my family who are visiting me tomorrow) I’ve decided to give myself a bit of a break today, where I will be going to Kingston to get myself an emo CD, and maybe even some chocolates. -_- Yes, I’m bringing up my sugar addiction AGAIN. I honestly don’t think it can be cured. If you’re thinking my writing is getting samey, that’s the very nature of addictions, isn’t it? Thus it’s actually good writing. Interestingly I’m not an alcoholic, and that’s all the more surprising as I do have a need to calm myself down a lot of the time, as I’ll explain soon. Anyway, to start the day I went to the gym, but perhaps because I went a good few hours earlier than usual and didn’t have much time to recover from yesterday’s session, I was feeling a bit knackered. However, I completed my exercising regime, so a big thumbs up to me. The milkshake I drank beforehand didn’t seem to help me at all, all it seemed to do was contribute to my sugar relapse. The sad truth is, I’ve just stopped caring this month. You know when I said there wasn’t a January, post Christmas crash? Well here it is, in a bizarre form.
When I got home, I found that I had to update my computer which caused me anxiety as watching my monitor repeatedly turn off and on again without me doing anything, is very disconcerting for me. Why are you acting like that??? Yesterday I was anxious because my Textedit program went all weird on me, again for no clear reason, and a few days ago, someone phoned me up twice where he just kept repeating ‘Hello’ after I said the word, but in a funny voice! Ok, none of that was TERRIFYING, but I don’t like it. Again, I should be an alcoholic, right? Let’s just marvel at my willpower again for a little bit. I did indeed start my update, then left to get my haircut. To pass the time in the barber’s, I like to pull faces suggesting I’m an examiner, and my ‘employee’ doesn’t have a clue what to do. It’s a complicated facial expression to describe, but I had a mirror right in front of me, so I knew my prank was a huge success. I know two other people inside the building saw me at least, which was very exciting. Did people see me from outside? Who knows? :O
When the guy finished trimming me, it seemed like he left a patch of my hair shorter than the rest of it, which made me think ‘Oh no, you DID screw up’. But it was explained that was just the lighting, and I trust him. Even so, he did shave a tiny bit more off my head when I pointed that out, which obviously made me suspicious. When I got home, I found my computer had updated successfully, which is something I always love seeing, I really do. Then I got a notification on my ‘System Preferences’ program, suggesting I had to do ANOTHER update. False alarm, it just said I had to read the terms and conditions of my new addition. Of course I didn’t do that as it would take hours, but I pretended that I did. We’ve all been there, right? I’ve only known of one person who does read such writings, and in his defence, he did come across as very sensible. I know it sounds like it’s very easy to trouble me, but there are just highs and lows in life, right?
I’ll give you a high: The PJ pizza I’m getting tonight! Woohoo! A fairly straightforward life I know, but I am hoping for an improvement sometime in the future. Sadly as I’ve been eating so many potato tots in my local petrol station, the pizza chain’s version of the food has got more boring for me, just as I feared (again, I wasn’t TERRIFIED), but that’s just a minor issue as I still really like the latter. Especially with the special BBQ sauce the station has yet to imitate. For now, I’m going to research the best ever emo bands, so I don’t end up getting a CD that sucks. As explained, I usually get albums by artists later on in the alphabet so I don’t have to massively reshuffle my alphabetised CD collection, but as my V, W, etc. sections are disproportionately large, I think I’ll just have to face my fear of cracking some cases. I guess I’ll just be careful. (Like I always am). As I will be leaving for the town at around 4pm, that means there will be no staff members giving me tickets, I’ll have to use the ticket machine on my own. Very dangerous.
(Let’s go to Kingston!!!)…
I’m back! I just missed a train home by a couple of minutes which was annoying, and when the next one did arrive, it came from the wrong direction which worried me. Luckily someone else had the same concern as me and also checked if the transport was going where it said it was. Two kind passengers confirming things? Should be fine right? It was. But still a bit weird. So I got home fine. Phew. Did I shop with an equal amount of skill? Well, with incredible willpower, I didn’t buy any chocs in the town! (That was mostly because I was cold walking through the streets and couldn’t be bothered, though). But come on, the pizza later will be enough. In the music shop I actually found an album by the band I was looking for which is cool. The band was called ‘American Football’, so you know what that means: Lots of shifting. :( As the case was so thin, maybe I could squeeze it in the top row somehow without a massive reshuffle, when back in my abode?? Turns out I just about could without cracking any, but it was too dangerous. Let’s do things the right, long way. Oh yes, and I got an album by the band ‘Hawthorne Heights’, just in case the first CD sucked. The thing with emo music is that it can go too far and become a bit too girly, but AF are very good and HH aren’t bad. A successful day, I guess!
(A day passes).
My family have just left! Really all the visit consisted of was watching videos and trying to stop my overexcited dog from attacking my niece and nephew in a ‘friendly’ way. Friendly or not, it could very easily look like child neglect if things went wrong. I’m not saying that’s the main reason my beagle had to be kept under control, but it certainly was a big one. Annoyingly there really is little else to write about. However some of the videos were pretty amazing. (The ones I suggested). I strongly recommend you watch Della Vega playing ‘Flight of the Bumblebee’ at 750 bpm on Youtube. I think that’s about 50 notes a second! I bet the guitarist really hates those people who say music shouldn’t just be about speed. So that’s it! A two hour get together and one paragraph! I do apologise. On a different note, you know I got really pleased about ‘resisting’ chocolates? I’m going to get some later today. :( It’s been noted that I’ve been consistently losing weight, but obviously teeth never heal. I guess I just have to up my tooth pick technique and use more mouthwash. And if you think that sounds shallow, you don’t know what it’s like. That’s all there is to say! Time to get this posted! (After I sort out the preceding paragraph, it was very difficult to write!)
