Mini Trains! (Blog 372)

Me, my dad and my brother’s family went to the mini train station again! And why not? It’s a good station. I just don’t find others fun. I find them more useful, but again, not fun. And maybe they should be? Just a wacky thought to warm this blog up! To start things off, and before the place was open to the public, I followed my dad around alone, as he tidied up the tracks a bit to make sure no one would end up crashing. I say tidying, all he did was pluck up the occasional weed. I very much doubt a weed could derail a train, even a very small train. If it could, I’d find it extremely anxiety-inducing riding one. As there was so little to do, me and my dad eventually went back to his van in the car park. Sitting on your own in silence is bad enough, but sitting in silence with someone else is much worse.
In the van, there really wasn’t much to do other than keep my eyes peeled for funny number plates, and the best I could do was NYC - New York City! Not hilarious sure, but a great anecdote if the driver visited the place or even better once lived there, in my opinion. There was a number plate that looked like ‘UZI’ but not quite, ‘WMD’ (weapon of mass destruction) but not quite and one looked like ‘ROSS’ but not quite. (Actually it was RO22. You know what, I think that’s close enough to be notable). More silence followed.
Eventually the excessive quiet got too much and me and my dad went to the cafe area, where I got a chocolate brownie. It was alright, but maybe the millionaire’s shortbread would have been better value for money. I ate the thing whilst seated at a table, and on the table, I noticed a green bug. Apparently at least some bugs find people disgusting as they wash themselves when they see them, by rubbing themselves and that’s what I saw. That hurt me because I found the thing to be quite pretty for a bug. Not sexy or anything, I’m just saying it was quite shiny and that’s what I liked. Clearly it wasn’t reciprocated.
After a fair amount of time, the place opened, my brother’s family showed up and we soon got to queuing for the ride. In the queue, I thought I saw someone wearing a shirt with ‘TWAT’ written on it in huge letters, actually it said ‘TWA’. Dammit. As I was standing around for so long, my knees started to hurt a bit, but do you know what? They really have got a lot stronger after my sensible gym workouts that don’t put them under too much stress. I used to get pain after walking 15 minutes or so, now I can walk for hours and have no problems. Great stuff. The joy of hardy knees. Can’t beat it. Still though, they could be better for standing. Eventually we all got on the mini train and it was filled with fun. I could have let the fear of being derailed by a bit of grass get to me, but I put it to back of my mind and everything went super. :)
After that, we all chilled out in the Spring breeze. I broke three, free plastic spoons as I ate my somewhat hard ice cream. Yep, I didn’t have to pay a penny for them. Take the power back. Sadly that was all I really did to take the power back, but on the plus side, reasonable ice cream. After that, we basically went our separate ways home. Sounds like a short trip out, actually it wasn’t, it’s just poor writing. For whatever reason, my brother phoned my dad as the latter was driving me back. I took the call and the former invited us to his house to have a barbecue. I guess being spontaneous is often encouraged, but I thought it was bad planning. Even so, sure, I’d love a barbecue. But only a small one, as I’d already eaten loads of food beforehand.
When we arrived, I was offered a burger. Yep, fair enough. I could definitely eat a burger. However, I was also offered a hotdog and I thought it would be impolite not to eat it. Then I saw reason and left most of my burger, as I preferred the sausage. My brother seemed to think I didn’t like the food enough, again, I just wasn’t hungry. I was then offered a donut and said I didn’t want that either. So there you go, proof I wasn’t hungry. After even more chilling out, and observing an impressive remote control car, well built new wall and a special neon sign spelling ‘Wiedemann’ (not in that order but I don’t think it matters) me and my dad went home for good. So that was day out! It started badly but got better, and rather that than the other way around right? So success! Bye!
