More Trains??? (Blog 312)

Yesterday, me and my dad drove to the mini trains place again! My god was the parking a lengthy procedure. My understanding (which is often poor) was someone had to enter the venue as often someone left or something like that, and for better or for worse not too many people were leaving. You don’t want to end up parking too quickly, as that would imply everyone was in a hurry to leave as the attraction sucked. Not a profound observation to you and I, though it could impress children. And there were lots of children there. Did I end up trying to impress them with such thoughts? Yes, I’ve been feeling low. No only joking. After leaving the car, for whatever reason my dad wandered around for ages and I followed him. It would have made more sense to wait for my brother and his mini daughter by the entrance so we didn’t miss them when they arrived but I suspect that was my dad’s point. Soon after suggesting to my dad we should walk back to the entrance we spotting my sibling. He had to go through the same lengthy parking treatment, which was very annoying. However, as he was travelling so slowly, it was possible to have a conversation with him through an opened window which is something.
Mainly I talked about how I had to wrap my jumper’s hood around my neck as a scarf to stop it getting more sunburnt. Why didn’t I have suntan lotion a good week after getting sun-zapped? Scarves! I could have worn my hood up in mini land, but that could have been perceived as thuggish for the sake of it, which is a reasonable concern for me. So I didn’t. Why would a (seemingly) thuggish person visit an event for children? Mental illness. :S Oh, if only I kept quiet about that kind of stuff. Anyway, my sister in law couldn’t come as she is pregnant AGAIN, and was feeling a bit sick. My nephew couldn’t come for an unexplained reason. He’s too young to disagree to something, so maybe he was just being difficult. Who knows? Unfortunately as we were all relatively late to tiny town, there was only yellow and blue candy floss available. The pink was gone! I just like pink, and apparently most people do as well. I don’t know why, so I didn’t get any. Even worse, we all had to queue up to get my niece’s face painted, and just at the last second we were told the artist was closing. I think teenagers could get their faces painted too, but not adults. What if I wanted to scare some people I didn’t like as a joke? What’s scarier then a 33 year old with a kitten painted on his face? Hilarious! But never mind.
What a start - only yellow/blue candy floss and no paint. Not only that, one of the highlights of the day would have been the bouncy castle, but that was cancelled due to insurance reasons. I remember loving bouncy castles as an infant. Small trains AND a bouncy castle? Heaven (for mini people). Sadly it wasn’t to be. Continuing the theme of the day, we all had to wait ages to ride the mini trains. We’ve been on them a number of times now, but you know what? I like the ride. My niece was asked what her favourite train was, and whilst her response was somewhat enigmatic/apathetic she seemed to like the same one I did. Black! Very nice. Dark green is nice too, but apparently that’s the colour of arrogance. Which isn’t me, clearly. Or her. Black CAN be associated with evil, but it also (mainly) suggests introversion, and again, I think the nicer quality sums up both of us. Not evil. After than we had some ice cream! Bad for you, but again, not evil. In the background, there was a nice mixture of Meatloaf, Blue Oyster cult, and Boston. Not too girly, not too aggressive. Perfect mini trains/fair music. Or perhaps entry level music for future metalheads. ImI Leaving the place was certainly a lot easier than entering, but to be fair, that was because most people had left already. Ok, blog over! Byeee!
